Louisiana mother accused of 'torturing' daughter pleads not guilty

TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The woman accused of torturing her teenage daughter in Terrebonne Parish pled not guilty to the charges against her in court on Monday, June 24.

The Terrebonne Parish Clerk of Court's Office confirmed that 40-year-old Latonya Harris pled not guilty to second-degree cruelty to a juvenile, domestic abuse battery and child endangerment following a crash in Baytown, Texas that led to the discovery of the alleged abuse of her 15-year-old daughter.

According to previous reports, on April 20, Baytown police were made aware of a vehicle that had been driving recklessly on Interstate 10 East and crashed onto a service road.
