North St. Louis neighborhoods resilient one year after devastating tornado

One year after a violent tornado tore across St. Louis city, county and the Metro East on May 16, 2025, many North St. Louis neighborhoods are still fighting to rebuild. The devastating storm left behind widespread destruction and an emotional scar that many families say has not healed. Among those determined to rebuild is 68-year-old David Lester, who lost nearly everything.
