Report: 51 homes damaged, lost in Alexander Mountain Fire

DENVER (KDVR) — The Alexander Mountain Fire scorched 9,668 acres in Larimer County and destroyed several homes.

While the wildfire is almost fully contained at 91%, the damage it caused is here to stay.

The Larimer County Assessor completed a property damage report from the Alexander Mountain Fire on Aug. 4. The report found 51 homes were damaged or lost.

Reduced property value for homes damaged in fire

The assessor said that owners impacted by the fire could see reduced property values, which will reduce taxes as they attempt to rebuild.
