A strong area of low pressure in southern Canada will be responsible for varying weather conditions over the course of Thursday. After a warm front brought widespread rain this morning, we will tap into some dry time with breaks of sunshine into the early afternoon. It will be muggy and windy during this stretch, with non-thunderstorm winds possibly strong enough to bring down trees and powerlines on its own. Scattered strong to locally severe thunderstorms will then be possible in the afternoon ahead of this system's cold front.
