INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Prosecutors have charged a man for the Thanksgiving Day murder of two people in Indianapolis.

Jaren Morgan, 18, was charged with murder, robbery and arson.

The shooting and fire happened Nov. 27 at a home in the 3800 block of Audubon Road, near East 38th Street and North Arlington Avenue.

Police say Meghan Wiekerson, 36, and Corkney Morgan died in the shooting. The Marion County Coroner’s Office has not yet confirmed Corkney’s death, saying the identification of the other person killed was pending.

A 1-year-old child was in the home but was not hurt.

A witness told police that Jaren was Corkney’s son.

Police say Jaren also stole a shotgun and laptops.

Online records from Marion Superior Court 28 show Jaren was charged with four counts of murder, two counts of robbery, and a count of Arson, all felonies. His arrest warrant remained active, the court records showed.

Online jail records did not show Jaren as an inmate on Tuesday night.
