2 arrested for December shooting death of man near Fort Wayne intersection

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WISH) — A man and a woman were arrested Wednesday for their alleged roles in the December shooting death of a man near a Fort Wayne intersection.

On Dec. 21, at 4:35 a.m., officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and West Paulding Road on a report of a shooting investigation. Officers arrived and found a man, identified as 29-year-old Andraias Curry, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Medics arrived and attempted lifesaving measures, but Curry died from his injuries at the scene.

Fort Wayne detectives responded and conducted a criminal investigation. Detectives identified Xzavier Sanders, 28, as a suspect in the shooting. Sanders was arrested on a separate charge and was transported to the Allen County Jail on a probation violation. On Wednesday, Sanders was preliminarily charged with murder and attempted murder.

Detectives also identified Damiah Jackson-Sanders, 23, as a suspect in the shooting. On Wednesday, detectives arrested Jackson-Sanders in the 600 block of East Jefferson Boulevard without incident. Jackson-Sanders was preliminarily charged with conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit attempted murder. She is being held at the Allen County Jail.
