INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The 500 Festival announced its selection of 33 women to be this year’s 500 Festival Princesses on Wednesday. The women picked for the 2026 season represent 19 different Indiana colleges and 21 cities.
Hundreds of women applied, organizers say, and the class of 2026 was chosen based on their “academic achievements, community engagement, leadership, and Hoosier pride.”
In a release listing the names of the 500 Festival Princesses, the nonprofit says the women will go on a “meaningful journey,” build connections throughout the state, grow their professional skills, and get mentoring.
500 Festival President and CEO Dave Neff says he is excited for the impact this year’s class will make on other Hoosiers.
“We are proud to welcome this year’s 500 Festival Princesses and look forward to the enthusiasm they will share with communities across the state,” Neff said. “Through this program, these young women will build lasting connections, grow as leaders, and help carry forward the spirit and tradition of the 500 Festival.”
Every year, the princesses help advance the 500 Festival’s mission to celebrate the legacy of the Indianapolis 500 while making a positive impact on the city.
