FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WISH) — A 75-year-old Fort Wayne man was arrested and preliminarily charged with attempted murder after a shooting on Monday morning at an intersection east of the downtown area, police say.

In a news release, the Fort Wayne Police Department did not identify the person shot. The person was taken to a trauma center in a life-threatening condition.

Fort Wayne police responded to a report of a shooting at 9:35 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Laverne Avenue and Lake Avenue. That’s an area with several homes and businesses, and the Fort Wayne Catholic Cemetery.
