FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WISH) — A man was fatally injured Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash in Fort Wayne, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office on Wednesday identified the man as Jethroe Warren Jr., 77, who was homeless. He died after the crash at a hospital.
At 7:25 p.m. Tuesday, the department received calls of a single-vehicle crash involving an SUV and a pedestrian on West Coliseum Boulevard just west of the intersection at Goshen Road. Officers and medics arrived to find Warren with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the SUV stayed on scene and was cooperating with officers. Speed and alcohol were not believed to be factors in the crash.
All eastbound traffic on Coliseum Boulevard, west of the intersection, was rerouted during the crash investigation.
