INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Alec Pierce was a target for other teams in free agency, but decided to return to the Colts on a historic deal. He signed a four-year, $114 million contract, the largest contract for a free agent wide receiver in NFL history.
While there were other teams trying to sign Pierce, he was set on returning to the Colts.
“I knew at the bottom my heart, this is where I wanted to be, and I knew just kind of from the communication,” Pierce said. “I mean, my agents were really doing most of the communicating, right, with the Colts and stuff like that. But they kept telling me, they said, ‘We’re not going to let you get out of Indy. We want you to be a Colt.’ So, I knew they wanted me here and I wanted to be here, so it was an easy decision.”
Pierce had 47 catches for 1,003 yards and six touchdowns in 2025. He set career highs in both catches and yards. He was the Colts leading receiver in each of the last two seasons.
Pierce also led the NFL in yards per catch in each of the last two seasons (22.3 yards per catch in 2024 and 21.3 yards per catch in 2025).
