On February 5, 2008, a long-track tornado brought destruction to a 122-mile path across Arkansas. It began in Yell County and lifted in Sharp County. It was rated an EF4 on the Enhanced Fujita scale, causing 13 fatalities. The day also spawned other tornadoes across Arkansas, and even more region-wide in surrounding states. This is referred to as the Super Tuesday tornado outbreak.
