Arkansas Storm Team Blog: A look back on the February 1994 ice storm
From February 9 to 11, 1994, a major ice storm brought devastating impacts to Arkansas. Southeast Arkansas was hit the hardest. Some were without power for weeks as between 1 and up to nearly 6 inches of accumulating ice were recorded across the Natural State. This same storm brought destructive ice to other parts of the South, like Texas, Mississippi, and the Carolinas.
