Arkansas Storm Team Blog: ARDOT salt usage in the latest winter storm from the AST Thunder

The preliminary estimates from the Arkansas Department of Transportation's salt and salt brine usage are in, but some districts are still counting inventory. An estimated 3 million gallons of salt brine and 40,000 tons of salt were used in the late January winter storm in Arkansas. While warm temperatures have helped melt the snow and ice, widespread rain late this week will continue to help wash out lingering snow and ice piles.
