Arkansas Storm Team Blog: Rare fogbow seen in Arkansas
Fogbows were seen be Arkansans on Monday morning, February 16. Fogbows are rare, and form similarly to a rainbow, with tiny water droplets and sunlight. Th tiny water droplets that make up fog scatter sunlight, forming a ghostly arc. A fogbow is mainly white or gray due to the tiny size of the fog droplets, which can't refract sunlight as well as larger raindrops do when a rainbow forms.
