TRAFALGAR, Ind. (WISH) — The awards keep coming for an Indian Creek senior.

For the third consecutive year, Libby Dowty was named the Gatorade Indiana High School Girls Cross Country Player of the year. A University of Louisville commit, Dowty won the IHSAA individual state championship in October for the second time in three years.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, Dowty also brought home a wrestling championship, winning the state finals at 110 pounds.

Dowty grew up in a wrestling family, and her father, Pat, is the Braves wrestling coach. She says she was pretty good at both wrestling and running and figured she could perform in both sports at a high level thanks to her work ethic. However the journey wasn’t easy.
