Auto parts facility in Warsaw to close, affecting 262 workers

WARSAW, Ind. (WISH) — First Brands Group is set to permanently close its Dalton Corp. Warsaw Manufacturing Facility next month, impacting 262 employees, according to a notice filed with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

First Brands Group is an auto parts developer, marketer and seller. The Warsaw facility makes components for medium- and heavy-duty trucks, and other equipment used in construction, agriculture and other industries.

The closure of the northern Indiana facility at 1900 E. Jefferson St. was anticipated to result in the termination of 257 employees on Feb. 27. The complete closure of the facility is expected by March 1, although five employees will remain until March 31 to assist with the closure.

At least some of the workers are members of United Steelworkers Local 6805 in Warsaw.

Affected workers were encouraged to seek assistance through the Indiana Department of Workforce Development’s Rapid Response program.
