Homicides cut nearly in half in Baltimore County since 2021

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. — Violent crime is falling across Baltimore County, with homicides and non-fatal shootings hitting their lowest levels in five years while police solve a record number of cases.

Newly released data shows the county recorded 28 homicides in 2025, down from 55 in 2021 — a nearly 50% decrease.

Non-fatal shootings also dropped significantly, falling by more than 45% over the same time period.
