INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The precautionary boil water advisory for the northwest side of Indianapolis has been lifted, Citizens Energy announced Sunday.

The advisory came in response to a water main break Friday afternoon in the area of 56th Street and Reed Road, knocking out water to a large portion of the northwest side.

Following state-mandated testing, Citizens confirmed the drinking water is safe and no longer needs to be boiled.

“We know water outages and boil advisories are inconvenient, and we deeply appreciate customers’ patience and cooperation over the weekend,” Citizens said in a release.
