INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana Gov. Mike Braun on Monday held a ceremonial signing of a new law aimed at lowering energy costs and holding utilities accountable for Hoosiers.

The measure, signed into law Feb. 26 by the Republican governor, requires performance-based ratemaking, a multiple-year rate plan, and transparency when companies request rate increases.

The law also bans shutoffs from June 1 through Sept. 23, offering relief during the hottest months.
