Camp Pendleton upgrades working dog facilities after report finds poor conditions

The Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (OIG) found that military working dogs at bases in San Diego were kept in conditions that exposed them to inclement weather, contamination and disease, and recommended that the 341 training squadron decrease the number of dogs until more handlers are available and that the DoD Military Working Dog Program develop and implement a plan to upgrade kennel facilities.
