CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) — Reduce, reuse, recycle! (Even your Christmas trees).
Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation (CCPR) will hold its annual Holiday Tree Recycling Day on Friday, Jan. 9 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Westermeier Commons in Central Park.
During this drive-through recycling event, participants are able to bring their live, non-decorated holiday trees and have them unloaded by by CCPR staff and volunteers.
The trees get recycled into mulch to use throughout local parks and green spaces. Last year, 41 trees were recycled which helps divert waste from landfills and support park stewardship.
No advance registration is required to participate in Holiday Tree Recycling Day. Volunteers are needed to help welcome guests, direct traffic and assist with unloading trees. Click here to sign up!
