Indianapolis Zoo president steps down from role

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The President and CEO of the Indianapolis Zoo, Dr. Rob Shumaker, has stepped down from his role, according to a release sent by the zoo on Monday.

News 8 previously reported in February that Shumaker took a leave of absence. “I would like to thank the Board for recently offering me a short leave of absence to reflect and make some personal decisions. I care very deeply about the Indianapolis Zoo, its mission, people, and animals,” he said in the release.
