INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Colts announced they will be bringing back head coach Shane Steichen and Chris Ballard for the 2026 season.

The decision comes on the heels of a seven-game losing streak to end the season, the fifth straight year the team will not be in the playoffs.

WISH-TV Colts Insider Kevin Bowen weighed in on the decision to bring back Steichen and Ballard.

“I think there’s an acceptance of mediocrity over on West 56th Street that is quite apparent right now,” Bowen said. “That’s disappointing, to be frank. I think it’s an organization that prides itself on so much wining there in the 2000s, and I don’t see that same sort of hunger, desire, accountability.”
