Community shows support for Buzbee family as prosecution plays out

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) – A trail of pink marks the path to Hailey Buzbee’s Celebration of Life.

Cory and Cayden Meyers, father and son, spent their afternoon tying pink ribbons and bows along several streets leading to ITOWN Church for Buzbee’s family to see when they travel to the service for the 17-year-old on Thursday. 

Pink was Hailey’s favorite color. 

“We feel that we lost a member of our community. She was a sweetheart,” Cory said. “When a member of your community is taken away under these circumstances, or any circumstances, you want to help in any way you possibly can.” 

Pink ribbons are a common sight in the Buzbee family’s neighborhood, wrapped on mailboxes, trees, and homes throughout the Fishers subdivision. It’s where prosecutors say 39-year-old Tyler Thomas picked Buzbee up, taking her to Ohio, where she was found dead.
