INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A new proposal offers a way to fund Indianapolis road improvements without raising taxes.

The city must find $50 million to qualify for additional state matching funds for road projects.

City-County Councilor Michael-Paul Hart said the city can meet that requirement without a new tax. Hart’s plan would dedicate at least 10% of the city’s annual revenue growth to road funding. The plan uses existing revenue and future budget planning to meet the state requirement.
