Couple Charged With Felony Animal Cruelty After Dogs Found Abandoned in Henderson County Home

Authorities say two severely underweight dogs were rescued after being left alone inside a residence for nearly two weeks.

Henderson County, NC – Two people are facing felony charges after authorities say they abandoned dogs inside a Henderson County home for weeks without proper care.

Animal Enforcement officers responded Thursday, Feb. 26 to a welfare check at a residence after receiving a report that two dogs may have been left behind when the occupants moved out, according to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.
