DANVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — A propane leak from a construction zone at Danville Community High School prompted the immediate evacuation of students and staff from the area.
Danville Community School Corporation confirmed the evacuation with News 8 Friday afternoon.
The school said in a letter sent to families that students and staff were relocated to Danville Community Middle School.
It was not clear what caused the leak, but it was “confirmed as construction-related.” The school says firefighters evaluated and safely cleared the building as of Friday afternoon.
“The fire department has cleared the building, confirming that it is safe for re-entry,” the school said. “Students who were evacuated to DCMS will now begin returning to DCHS with staff support. We will continue with classes as normal.”
It was unclear if any injuries were reported.
