Danville man arrested for neglect after more than 10 dogs found in waste-filled home

DANVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — A 52-year-old Danville man is facing a felony neglect charge after police found more than 10 dogs living in “severe” conditions Tuesday.

According to a release from Danville Metropolitan Police Department, at 3:08 p.m., officers responded to North Cross and West Columbia streets after neighbors reported 10 to 12 dogs running loose in the road.

When officers arrived, they found a large hole on the south side of a home in the 2000 block of North Cross Street that appeared to be an exit for the animals. From the street, officers smelled a strong odor of animal waste and saw a significant amount of feces inside the house.
