
Puppy stolen in DC burglary as fourth suspect arrested and search continues
WASHINGTON, DC – A Northeast burglary that left a family without their Shih Tzu puppy has led to another arrest more than a month later, as the search for the missing dog continues.
The break-in happened around 10:21 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, in the 3500 block of East Capitol Street Northeast. Investigators said suspects entered an unoccupied apartment and took multiple items, including a Shih Tzu puppy named Cruz.
On Friday, April 10, 28-year-old Dijon Fendell, who has no fixed address, was arrested under a DC Superior Court warrant and charged with second-degree burglary.
The arrest marks the latest development in the case. Earlier, 26-year-old Yvonne Young of Southeast DC was arrested on March 19 and charged with second-degree burglary. Three additional arrests were also made on March 6 in connection with the incident.
