Delaware County commissioners suspend Emergency Management director

MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) — The Delaware County commissioners have suspended two top emergency leaders following a special meeting Monday night.

Director John Coutinho of Delaware County Emergency Management was suspended indefinitely with pay.

Mike Ashley, director for Emergency Medical Services, was suspended for three days without pay.

The board approved both moves in a unanimous vote, citing personnel matters tied to an ongoing investigation. They did not release further details.

Delaware County, with nearly 113,000 residents, is located about an 80-minute drive northeast of downtown Indianapolis.
