Denver area firefighters respond to multiple fires on July Fourth

DENVER (KDVR) -- Crews are busy fighting multiple fires across the Denver metro area Thursday night.

A higher amount of fires was expected. Dry, hot conditions along with holiday celebrations created wildfire risks and prompted fire warnings days before the 4th of July.

At 8:40 p.m., Aurora Fire Rescue was on the scene of a small grass fire in the 16000 block of 40th Circle. No one was injured and the fire was under control as of 8:44 p.m.

The Arvada Fire Department and West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a grass fire north of Interstate 76 near Marshall Street, and the fire was put under control, AFD posted at 9:37 p.m.
