INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis homicide detectives were trying to identify a person who died after being found shot Wednesday night on a street in a commercial area southwest of the I-70 interchange for Shadeland Avenue, police said.
Medics and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to a report of a person shot at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of East 21st Street and Rama Place, just southwest of the I-70 interchange for Shadeland Avenue. That’s in an area with medical offices and other businesses.
The person died after being taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital for treatment.
Investigators believe the shooting was targeted but did not immediately know what may have led to the shooting. They were asking for people and businesses in the area to offer video that could help them.
News 8 images from the scene showed a bicycle that may have been part of the incident.
