MINEOLA, N.Y. – A Queens man has been indicted on multiple felony charges after prosecutors say he drove while heavily impaired and struck a longtime Nassau County crossing guard, who later died from his injuries.

Joshua Alvarado, 30, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Tuesday on charges including manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, and assault in connection with the February crash that killed 70-year-old John Miro.
