Driver ejected, killed in early morning crash near Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) — A vehicle crash early Monday morning in Tippecanoe County leaves one dead.

According to a release by Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to the intersection of State Road 26 East and County Road 900 East in reference to a single vehicle crash.

When officers arrived they found a person dead in a nearby field. Investigators say the driver was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.

The identify of the person has not yet been released.

Police say the involvement of alcohol or drugs has not been ruled out.
