Man dead after crash on I-69 In Huntington County
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A 77-year-old Bluffton man died early Wednesday after the SUV he was in went airborne and flipped several times before landing in a ditch along I-69 in Huntington County.
Richard Elston was driving eastbound on County Road 200 North around 12:45 a.m. when he reached a dead end facing I-69 and “failed to realize the road had ended,” the Huntington County Sheriff’s Office said in a release.
The initial investigation found that Elston’s SUV went through the grass and crashed through an INDOT construction fence before going airborne.
