ECSO investigating deadly shooting

ECTOR COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The Ector County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Monday evening shooting that left one person dead.

According to Sheriff Mike Griffis, around 6:41 p.m. on February 26, deputies were called to the 200 block of S Tripp in reference to an ambulance run involving an unresponsive man. At the scene, deputies learned that a man, later identified as 27-year-old D'Marion DaJohn Jackson, was dead from an apparent gunshot wound. 

The Ector County Sheriff Office Criminal Investigation Department, in conjunction with the Texas Rangers,  responded to the scene and initiated the investigation. At this time, the case is being investigated as a homicide with next of kin having been notified.
