INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A federal jury has convicted a man for an armed robbery in 2023 at a CVS drugstore in Carmel, according to a news release issued Friday from the U.S. Department of Justice and the federal district court in Indianapolis.
Mikhal Hamilton, 25, of Indianapolis, was found guilty.
David Washington, 23, of Arcadia, previously pleaded guilty in the case and was sentenced to nine years in prison in October 2024 for the armed robbery.
The crime happened about 5:30 a.m. June 25, 2023, at the store at 1421 S. Range Line Road, according to previously published news reports.
Court documents indicate the men used guns to threaten employees before demanding prescription medications. They were arrested shortly after when Carmel Police Department pulled them over during a traffic stop near the I-465 interchange at West 86th Street in Indianapolis, and recovered stolen pills, a Glock handgun, and a Polymer80 homemade gun.
Hamilton’s sentencing will come at a later date.
The U.S. Department of Justice does not provide jail booking photos.
