Feds find 944 pounds of liquid meth in fuel tank at U.S.-Mexico border

Nearly half a ton of liquid methamphetamine was found inside the fuel tank of a commercial tractor-trailer crossing the U.S.-Mexico border in Otay Mesa on Monday, federal investigators said.

The drugs were discovered when a Customs and Border Protection officer observed a white, crystalline substance on top of the fuel tank of the big rig at the port of entry’s import cargo facility around 11:20 a.m, federal prosecutors said.
