EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — An armed felon has been arrested for fleeing police in a vehicle with his child and the mother inside.
At 11 p.m. Monday, 28-year-old Nazhee Flowers of Evansville was driving over the posted speed limit near U.S. 41 and Riverside Drive.
When officers initiated a traffic stop, Flowers fled, striking a marked Vanderburgh County Sherriff’s Office vehicle.
Deputies pursued Flowers westbound on Riverside Drive to the area of Culver Drive. The vehicle pursuit lasted two minutes, during which Flowers attempted to turn into an alley, but ended up hitting a parked vehicle and brick wall. After a short foot pursuit, Flowers was taken into custody by the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force.
His charges include the following:
- Dealing Cocaine, Level 2 felony.
- Resisting Law Enforcement, Level 6 felony.
- Resisting Law Enforcement, Class A misdemeanor.
- Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon, Level 6 felony.
- Neglect of a Dependent, Level 6 felony.
- Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Level 5 felony.
- Reckless Driving, Class A misdemeanor.
- Speeding, infraction.
Detectives say they located a handgun inside his vehicle, as well as four plastic baggies containing 198 grams of suspected cocaine in the area in which they arrested him...
