INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — For the second month in a row, Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month.
Mitchell led the WNBA in scoring in August, averaging 28.9 points per game, which was almost four points per game higher than the second highest scorer in the month of August. Mitchell shot 55.6% from the floor and 53.4% from three in the month.
Mitchell scored at least 20 points in all 11 games she played, while breaking the record for most consecutive games with at least 20 points in a single season (24 games and still an active streak).
She helped lead the Fever to a 7-4 record in the month.
This is Mitchell’s second Player of the Month award in her career.
