MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) — Construction horses and cones blocking streets were a familiar sight in Muncie Wednesday as the flash flooding forced several neighbors to evacuate their homes.

“We’ve been watching our neighbors get rescued in boats,” Alisha Stevens said from her front porch in Muncie. “It’s been a little scary and it’s still raining and the water is still rising. So, we’re just watching it.”

Stevens, along with Ashley Riffit and Ahmelia Jarnagin, live on Pershing Street in Muncie. Stevens said that the family lost power and underneath the house is flooded.
