Johnson County, Indiana, coroner pleads guilty, resigns
FRANKLIN, Ind (WISH) — Former Johnson County Coroner Michael Pruitt on Thursday pleaded guilty to seven misdemeanor counts of supplying alcohol to a minor.
Pruitt, a former assistant fire chief in Bargersville, admitted in court to repeatedly supplying alcohol to a teenage girl. As part of his plea agreement, he will not serve any jail time but he will face 363 days of probation plus court-ordered therapy. He also must pay restitution. The agreement also requires him to resign as county coroner, a resignation which became effective on Wednesday.
