CORTINA d’AMPEZZO, ITALY (WISH) — Former NTT IndyCar Series driver Simona de Silvestro is competing on the world’s biggest stage this month.
De Silvestro will be taking part in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
The Swiss-Italian is part of the host country’s Olympic team and will participate in both the monobob competition and two-woman competition in the bobsleigh event.
“We officially made it,” de Silvestro wrote in an Instagram post near the end of January. “We’re going to the Olympic Games.”
De Silvestro raced four full-time seasons in IndyCar. Overall, she competed in at least one IndyCar race in seven different years.
“Proof that a little crazy, mixed with belief, can make the impossible real,” de Silvestro added in the Instagram post. “It all started with a dream that I wasn’t scared to chase! I cannot wait to represent Italy in Milano Cortina 2026.”
