MANTEO, N.C. (WISH) — An Indiana man stationed at Fort Bragg in North Carolina faces several child exploitation charges following an investigation that began in November 2025.

A release from Manteo Police Department states investigators were assigned by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to start an investigation involving 22-year-old Aiden Borowicz who was attempting to initiate sexual contact with an underage girl.

Borowicz was arrested at Fort Bragg on Jan. 22 after investigators determined Borowicz booked a room at a local hotel with plans to meet the girl for the purpose of “engaging in sexual activity.”

Borowicz was charged with solicitation of a child by computer or certain other electronic devices to commit an unlawful sex act.

Following the arrest, police searched Borowicz’s residence where they found several unspecified devices. They are currently being analyzed.

After the search, Borowicz was additionally charged with 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

He is currently being held at a detention center in North Carolina after his bond was denied.

Police say the case remains under review for additional charges.

A hearing is scheduled for Feb. 19.
