INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Girl Scouts of Central Indiana board of directors announced in a press release Tuesday that they have appointed Deana Potterf as their new chief executive officer.
In her new role, Potterf will oversee the organization’s strategic direction, which focuses on leadership development, entrepreneurship, STEM and outdoor programs.
Potterf has a long-standing history with the Girl Scouts, including three decades of service. Prior to her appointment, she served as the chief operating officer and held the interim CEO position since June 2025.
The chair of the GSCI board of directors, Stephanie Smithey said in a press release, “Deana is an accomplished servant leader who brings vision, integrity and a deep belief in the power of girl.”
Potterf becomes the permanent successor to Danielle Shockey, who stepped down in June 2025 from her role as CEO of GSCI to accept a national role with Girl Scouts of the USA.
