INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Google on Wednesday described its plans for a new data center campus in rural Morgan County.

The new data center, located on 550 acres along West State Road 42 near Monrovia, will support Google’s digital services, including Google Cloud, Workspace, Search, and Maps, providing critical infrastructure for both local and global users.

“This project is more than just a facility; it is the foundation for our next generation of economic stability. We are securing stable, high-value careers for our residents and fueling essential services for our schools and county departments—all without adding a single dime to our taxpayers’ burden,” Mike Dellinger, Morgan County Economic Development Corporation, said in a release.
