Sherrill’s record-setting win prompts GOP warning against fraud claims

Trenton, NJ – A Republican strategist is urging New Jersey Republicans to shift focus away from voter fraud claims and toward campaign strategy following Mikie Sherrill’s record-setting gubernatorial victory, as online speculation about the results continues to circulate.

Sherrill’s 2025 win set a new high-water mark for total votes in a New Jersey governor’s race, with 3,171,151 ballots cast. She received 1,792,760 votes, defeating Republican nominee Jack Ciattarelli, who garnered 1,378,391 votes, according to election data shared widely online.

Mike DuHaime, a longtime Republican strategist in the state, pushed back on claims suggesting irregularities in the results. “Republicans should not pretend they lost because of voter fraud. This is not why Jack lost, and lost by a lot,” DuHaime wrote in a post Sunday.<...
