Grass fire in Chaves County burns 11.2 acres

CHAVES COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The Dexter Fire Department said multiple agencies responded to a grass fire on Monday in Chaves County. The fire at River Road burned 11.2 acres and burned several structures, vehicles, and junk piles. Firefighters from throughout the county spent hours on Monday fighting the fire.
