INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The heat dome is hitting Hoosier farmers and could impact the current crop. 

Indiana Farm Bureau President Randy Kron said farmers across Indiana are feeling the effects at a pivotal time for corn and soybean crops. 

“I farmed for 40 years,” Kron said. “And mother nature throws you a curve ball just about every year.”

Extreme temperatures can make it difficult for corn to pollinate. Kron has seen examples of corn missing kernels in Southeastern Indiana. He worries the weather could make a good yield challenging.
