Heavy traffic predicted for Hapalua Half Marathon, here's how to avoid it

HONOLULU (KHON2) -- Over 10,000 participants have signed up for the Hapalua Half Marathon on Sunday. The Department of Transportation worked alongside Honolulu Police to minimize traffic disruptions by scheduling road closures around the Kapiolani, Ala Moana and Kahala areas.

The marathon is set to begin at 6 a.m. but road closures of one or more lanes will begin at 4 a.m. In some areas, tow-away zones will be in effect from 4 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday.
